Description
For Sale is a Rare!Antique 7½" c.1841 CERAMIC COMMEMORATIVE PLATE for ALBERT EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES on his BIRTH on Nov. 9,1841
. "The Little Jockey" was the first born of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who grew up 60 years later to become King of England as KING EDWARD VII. Plate is in excellent shape with no visible chips or cracks and has an incised Queens Crown Mark on the back.
I've seen 2 other plates of the same kind with different images, where "Edward" is misspelled as "Edwad" with no maker's mark. This one is spelled correctly and has the Queens Crown and the letters "B.T. & SFP." Could be 'B. Taylor & Sons, Ferrybridge Pottery Yorkshire.' Truly an extremely difficult piece to find especially in the wonderful condition it is in. Will not ship to a Freight Forwarding Company. International buyers MUST use Ebay Global Shipping. Please examine the photos for the best visual description of condition and ask questions if something is not clear.
