1930's ZENITH AMERICAS SAFEST AUTO RADIO LICENSE PLATE SIGN TAG TOPPER VINTAGE

Description

Up for auction is an incredibly rare Zenith license plate topper sign that states "America's Safest Auto Radio".
We can date this topper sign to the 1930's as it was during the second half of this decade that we can find advertisements by Zenith targeted at dealers using this phrase.  During that period, automobile radios, were an add-on that the dealer tried to sell any there were many radio manufacturer for them to choose from.
This is only the second of these I can find a record of even existing.  The other came on a thin metal black bar that would have allowed the topper sign to be mounted clear of the license plate.  It looks like someone removed the bar back in the 1930's and attached this directly tp the top screw of the license plate.
