very nice unrestored 100% original California license plate pair. 1941 issue; number 9Y 171.  uncommon five-digit variant.  14x6 inches; yellow legend on black background.
plates are almost completely straight and flat with excellent original paint as shown.  1942 and 1943 "V for victory" tab pairs are included.  each plate/tab combo has one hole drilled through top center.
the plates have been given a thorough cleaning, and are otherwise just as found.  an excellent representation of plates as they appeared in 1943, during World War II. fresh out of the barn!
DMV clear as of 6/5/2021; may be placed on your 1941 vehicle. perfect for your Ford, Chevy, Packard, or DeLorean.
