Description
Historic A-20G HavocA-20G Havoc 39224 was the first A-20 to complete 100 combat missions over Europe in World War II. Originally named "Miss Laid" (and sporting the pinup nose art to prove it) the aircraft was repainted for the official ceremony that took place in Paris in November, 1944. "La France Libre" represented the cooperation between the United States and France in liberating that country from their Nazi occupiers. Depicted here on one of its last missions during early December 1944 over the Rhineland of Germany.
