    Description

English Letters Patent Issued by King George III in 1776 on Vellum with attached Royal wax seal in tin case. (2) V-5 shilling Tax Stamps with Royal Cypher stamp on Reverse symbol of KGIII (Crown with 2-3 G 2-R on stamp), Size 32Wx25H. The Letters patent is elaborately illustrated, typical preservation folds, wrinkling, with some age toning. This order was issued for the Sheriff to seize property in Great Britain. Issued during the time period of great struggle with their young colony in America.
King George III of England (1738 –1820. The King began his reign 1760) Document is on Vellum: Letters Patent Dated 1776  With attached original wax seal inside original tin case. Very good condition; a few minor losses (holes left center appear natural with no other near deterioration), small tear top left along a fold, age toning, and some obvious creases. Great Seal appended with decorative cord. The 4.5″ (5.5”overall) diameter wax seal is in overall good condition with some chipped area. The relief patterns are still quite enhanced. Neatly secured and protected in a tin/metal case. This document does not have a KGIII penned signature.
Please note- this letters patent will be shipped folded in it's original condition.  It will be packed and shipped safely and protected via USPS priority mail.  I have it displayed on a hard board with a protective support around the tin under clear cover. I will not ship the board as the size is cost prohibitive without specified instruction and additional shipping cost from buyer. Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information.  It is a really nice historical piece and hard to find in this condition. Thanks for looking.
