    Description

    PRINCE ALBERT of the UNITED KINGDOM – 1863 Medal – GREAT EXHIBITION Memorial.
    An historic memorial medal memorializing Prince Albert, founder of the Great Exhibitions.
    The Obverse portrays a bust of the Prince Consort, with the inscription “Albert Prince Consort, Born August 26 1819, Died December 14 1861;” the Reverse has the inscriptions “Founder of the International Exhibitions of 1851 and 1862”, “Inauguration of the Memorial of the Exhibition 1851” and the date “June 10

    The copper/bronze medal was designed by Charles Wiener; it is 68MM wide and weighs a hefty 142 grams, and has been previously cleaned .
