***A Princess Diana Collector's Dream***I spent some fascinating personal time one on one with
Princess Diana's butler, Paul Burrell
after meeting him in 2008.
Mr. Burrell had spent eleven years as a personal footman to Her Majesty the Queen and later as Princess Diana's butler for ten years. I was captivated by the stories he shared with me of his time working for the Royal family. I then purchased this limited edition chair from him which is part of his furniture collection which he debuted in Bucks County, Pennsylvania that same year we met. The furniture line was designed after the furnishings once gracing the home of Princess Diana. The chair was produced by the acclaimed Highland House furniture company and the quality of the piece is remarkable.
It is a finely carved chair with hand made button tufting in an emerald green lush fabric on the seat & back. The detailed application is often found on English upholstery designs. The chair bears symbols of both X's and O's (hugs and kisses) due to the fact that it is a replica of a chair that Diana was seated in when she was nursing Prince William & Harry in Kensington Palace.
Highland Furniture Company only produced a limited quantity of this unique chair. I was very fortunate to obtain the creation and have kept it covered and protected since it was acquired. The intimate background story that is connected to it and the deeply personal relationship between Mr. Burrell and Diana make this an exceptional piece.
Before we departed company on his trip to the U.S. he signed the bottom of the chair for me.
The bottom of the chair displays Mr. Burrell's signature.
Remembering that this is the man that Princess Diana called "her rock" and that he was hand chosen by the Princess to be by her side after her divorce from Charles makes it all the more desirable for a collector. Any Princess Diana fan would be thrilled to have this in their home.
Accompanied with this purchase are also two autographed books I received from Paul titled "A Royal Duty" & "Remembering Diana".
I also included a photo of Paul and I together as well as of one of the numerous correspondences (email) to demonstrate the friendly relationship we had developed after our initial meeting. Again, it was remarkable to have such in depth conversations with the man that used to be the confidant to the most famous woman in the world! Obtaining the chair along with Mr. Burrell's signature has always made me feel as though I had a piece of Diana amongst my possessions.
Thanks for your interest!
(The chair is 27'" wide x 31" deep by 41" tall).
