    Description

British Royal Warrants are exceptionally rare and are only issued to Companies/Tradesmen who provide goods and or services to the British Monarch, their spouse and the heir to the Throne.
Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales (now King Charles III), as the then heir to the Throne of Queen Elizabeth II granted Royal Warrants, this particular rare Royal Warrant was granted in 1989 by Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales to Andrew Soόs T/A Benedek Ltd., a London high quality leather goods manufacturer.
Andrew Soόs founded his leather goods company in 1958 and soon established a reputation for producing the highest quality hand-made leather goods, and it was this exceptional reputation which in 1989 lead to his being granted a Royal Warrant by Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales as Prince Charles’ personal leather goods manufacturer. Following Prince Charles’ marriage of Princess Diana, Andrew Soόs also became her personal leather goods manufacturer, and as such Andrew Soόs was authorized to display this superb and extremely rare Royal Warrant plaque offered in this listing, at his business premises.
British Royal Warrant 3 dimensional plaques are exquisitely sculpted by hand and beautifully hand-painted, with their issue being strictly controlled and regulated by The Royal Warrant Holders Association, and they can only be hand-made for the particular person/entity who has been granted the Royal Warrant, and as such, are exceptionally rare. This particular 13 x 11 x 1 inch Royal Warrant plaque is in superb all original condition, with its original hand-painted colours remaining bright, vivid and vibrant.
Royal Warrants are held strictly until the holder of the Royal Warrant no longer provides goods or services to the appropriate member/s of the Royal Family, the Warrant holder dies, or they cease doing business.
Andrew Soόs died in 1995, and subsequently his business ceased trading, his Royal Warrant, which was previously displayed at his business premises, expired.
Royal Warrants date back to the 15th Century, when the Lord Chamberlain granted Royal Warrants to those supplying goods or services to King Henry VIII, and in 18th Century, Royal Warrant holders started displaying the Royal Coat of Arms Warrants on their premises, and that practice is continued to the present day.
In 40 years of collecting, I have only seen just 4 Royal Warrant plaques become available, one for Queen Elizabeth II, one for Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh one for the Queen Mother, all 3 of which I recently sold, and one for Prince Charles which I am now offering in this listing.
Also included in this listing in addition to the actual Royal Warrant plaque, are some items of correspondence from the Royal Warrant Holders Association to Andrew Soόs, an Andrew Soόs sales brochure displaying the Royal Warrant insignia, and a Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales presentation box which also displays the Royal Warrant insignia. Please note that the leather covered Prince of Wales presentation photograph frame shown is not included in this listing, however, it is available for purchase separately on ebay listing
