Costanza Donita was a well-known American musician who studied and performed throughout Europe. Her performances were very popular in the United States, France, and Italy, so much so she was invited to perform at the King and Queen’s residence at Quirinal Hill where she started her friendship with Queen Margherita. We were unable to locate any personal gifts from the Italian royal family at auction in the past 25 years making the present box extremely rare and highly desirable.
