The Crown of Louis XV of France is part of the Miniature Crown Jewel Collection created and designed by Nicholas & Susan Findeisen, the original owners of Crowns & Regalia, Ltd and is entirely hand made by skilled artists using the finest materials. Each piece is hand cast in high quality Pewter, then richly 22ct. Gold or Sterling Silver plated, hand polished, set with minute Austrian Crystal stones and/or hand enamelled and finished, and comes in its original box.
History of the Original:
Louis XV was King of France from 1715 to 1774. He is best known for contributing to the decline of royal authority that led to the French Revolution in 1789.
His crown was made by Laurent Ronde - the French Crown Jeweler.
In 1887 the Crown Jewels of France were sold at auction and although most pieces were distributed worldwide, this crown was retained, set with imitation paste stones, and is on display at the Louvre in Paris.
