The Obverse features a conjoined bust of the imperial couple, with their names

along the border.
The Reverse portrays the shields of the French government and the House of Romanov, with the inscription “Visite En France De Leurs Majestés L’Empereure et L’Empératrice de Russie

This large medal was designed by the renowned French engraver Jules Clément Chaplain, and is 70mm wide and 152 grams in weight.
It is marked “Bronze” on the rim, but also appears to be gilt (as have others).
There is a minor depression in one small part of the rim (please see photos), but the condition is clean and crisp.
