    Description

    Vintage Frock Coat Of The “ Blues & Royals” Squadron Household Calvary Mounted Regiment Detailed to Escort The Sovereign for State Occasions (1950’s.) and based at Windsor Barracks. The coat is of heavy weather proof type wool in deepest navy blue with a heavy silk lining with some age fraying at one area of the hem. The passementaire detail as well as the ribbon detail is black. Some may have been gold but cannot be confirmed. It is sized for a youth and is highly detailed and missing about 8 buttons. 41” long from back neck, approximately 33” chest width. Width across the rear shoulder is 17”. Military belt covered waistline ribbons. Bought in Windsor in the 1970’s and purported to have been worn at the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth. Was chosen to be a NYC evening/ Theatre coat. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
